Keen to keep pace with changes in legislation on behalf of its clients, APS has introduced new refuelling services in the wake of the introduction of ‘the carriage regulations' within the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment (amendment) Regulations 2005.
'Go Anywhere' Tanker (mobile refuelling)
APS can ensure that diesel-fuelled plant can be permanently available through its on-site refuelling services, which offers greater cost-effectiveness and answers environmental concerns.
Depending on type and location, plant can be supplied from our ‘Go-Anywhere' Land Rover mini tanker refuelling services, or from a bespoke ‘mini filling station' shared by a number of contractors on a site.
Either solution removes the need for employees to collect fuel from filling stations; reduces the risk of fuel spillage and pilfering of fuel; and provides a cost-effective means of keeping plant up and running.
And both ease the burden imposed by new, tighter Department of Transport regulations about the carrying and storage of fuel, which have introduced extra responsibilities, even for the carriage of a couple of five-litre drums.
APS mobile refuelling services will bring fuel to site, and dispense it with no risk of spillage, in our dedicated Land Rover tanker, which can deliver 950 litres in under 20 minutes making mobile refuelling very efficient.
The machine is equipped with a reel system, and has the capability to pump fuel up to 14 metres, making it possible to reach plant parked in awkward areas.
Mini Filling Station
For busier sites or those with multiple-contractor activity, static tanks, like ‘mini filling stations', can be installed for short- or long-term use.
With a capacity of up to 4,500 litres, all of these tanks are fully bunded and lockable. They are all fitted with appropriate pumps, driven by hand or by electricity from a 12-volt, 110-volt, or 240-volt supply.
All are equipped with metering devices that record fuel dispensed to each user, and APS will check on fuel use and arrange billing at regular intervals.
The tanks can be piped up to specific pieces of equipment if necessary, and APS will naturally see to it that each tank is kept filled.
In the event that a tank needs to be moved, APS can recover fuel from a tank, and put it into a new or alternative one.
An emergency call-out service is also available, and APS mobile refuelling services has a dedicated employee. |
